What types of locksmith services do you offer?

We handle a wide range of residential, commercial, and automotive needs, including:

    • Home and office lockouts

    • Re-keying and lock changes

    • Master key systems

    • Access control and keyless entry

    • CCTV security camera systems installation
    • Safe opening and combination resets
    • Smart lock installation

    • High security Mul-T-Lock hardware and services

Can you work with smart locks, keyless systems, and high-security hardware?

Yes. We’re trained on the latest lock technologies, from biometric smart locks to high-security deadbolts. We regularly work with brands like Schlage, Mul-T-Lock, Yale, and more.

Can you make or program a key fob for my car on-site?

No – we currently do not provide car key duplication, transponder key programming, or key fob services. Our focus is on residential and commercial locksmithing, including lockouts, rekeying, and lock hardware upgrades.

Are you licensed to operate as a locksmith in California?

Yes! Coastal Locksmith is fully licensed, bonded, and insured. We hold the following credentials:

  • California Locksmith License: LCO 4830

  • Contractor License: #950849 (C-28 Lock & Security Equipment, C-10 Electrical, C-07 Low Voltage Systems)

  • SAM.gov UID: F37FT4RFK5G9

  • CAGE/NCAGE Code: 9FYE5

All licenses and registrations are current and verifiable. Documentation is available upon request.

Are you bonded and insured?

Absolutely. We carry liability insurance and bonding that meet all California locksmith regulations. We’re happy to provide proof for your records or building management.

Will I get an estimate before work begins?

Yes. We always provide a written or texted quote before starting any job. The estimate will include labor, parts, and any additional fees, so there are no surprises.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, all major credit/debit cards, and digital payment options like Zelle, Venmo etc.

Are there different rates for nights, weekends, or holidays?

No. We don’t believe in surge pricing. Whether it’s a Tuesday afternoon or a Sunday, you’ll pay the same fair rate. Our pricing is straightforward, with no after-hours premiums or hidden fees — ever.

Can you rekey all my locks to use the same key?

Yes. We can rekey your property to a single key system – great for homes, multi-unit properties, or commercial spaces with multiple entry points.

Do you offer security consultations?

We do. If you’re unsure whether your current locks are doing their job, we can assess vulnerabilities and recommend upgrades that fit your budget and security goals.

What if I have an issue after the job is done?

Just call or text. We prioritize callback service and will return promptly to resolve any concerns, often the same day.

Entry Methods & Responsibility

What proof do you need before unlocking a door or vehicle?

We require a valid photo ID and proof of ownership or authorization—like a utility bill or car registration matching the address or license plate.

Do you use non-destructive methods?

Yes. We always attempt non-destructive entry first. Drilling or replacing locks is a last resort if the lock is damaged or inaccessible by other means.

What happens if something gets damaged during service?

If our technician causes damage during proper service, we take responsibility. If damage is pre-existing or unavoidable (e.g., a rusted-out lock), we’ll document it before proceeding.

Warranty, Reviews & Reputation

Do you warranty your work?

We stand behind our work with a warranty on both labor and parts—typically 30 to 90 days, depending on the service and hardware used.

Can I see reviews from past customers?

Yes. Check out our reviews on Google, Yelp, and other platforms to see what your neighbors in Orange County are saying.

Are you affiliated with any professional locksmith associations?

We’re licensed through the BSIS and often participate in ongoing industry training and certification programs to stay sharp and up to date.

Still Have Questions?
